If you are reading this, you’ve heard of us. So an introduction is in order. I am known as ‘The Boss Lady’ and the most restless of mortals. But I have been fortunate to have two exceedingly talented men in my life; my chef-husband, Cathal Armstrong and the other, our partner and spirits savant, Todd Thrasher. My husband, dark and brooding, is my Warrior-Poet, then there is Mr. Thrasher, who is my Wizard of Oz. Together we welcome you to a new era of the lounge. Where our present was written in the past-as ‘the cocktail’ now, evokes the classic age.

Mr. Thrasher, sommelier at Restaurant Eve and the master behind the mixes at PX, takes a chef-like approach to his creations. All of his juices are hand-squeezed, (so one won’t find cranberry here) His seven bitters (lemon, peach, mint, cherry, orange, kumquat, cranberry) are house made and change as do the seasons. And as any reputable mad scientist-the Alchemist brews his own tonic. (A bag of quinine arrives once a month and magic begins.)

His acts of fermenting, muddling, mincing and trips to the farmers markets all contribute to the fine precision of layers and balance found in his libations. His cocktails are pure ‘liquid art’ and those seeking his A-list aperitifs will stay in his good graces, if you don’t order a vodka tonic.

As it should be, these cocktails take time. But when skill and passion are combined…one can expect a masterpiece.

History has its place at our ‘20’s fashioned speak-easy; the building is historic, all the wood-work original, chandeliers imported and the vibe-Classy. We chose to forgo the sleek-modern bar. Instead the word that came to mind was-Renaissance.

So dear friends, slide on a jacket, don the jewels and step into our world.
